About this Project
This work involved expanding coral reef survey sites based on spatial analysis to improve monitoring coverage and ecosystem understanding. New seagrass research sites were designated to address gaps in knowledge of this underrepresented habitat, supporting baseline data collection and long-term monitoring. Alongside research, community outreach initiatives were developed, including a weekly education programme for local skippers focused on marine conservation and best practices. A seasonal octopus fishing programme was also supported, contributing to more sustainable resource use and increased community engagement in conservation efforts.
